here is an old project based on long defunct RTL logic, this paper is actually an Electronotes supplement that Bernie has posted on his site

http://electronotes.netfirms.com/S007.pdf

might be good for some lunetta ideas at it is still logic at its core, flip flops, inverters, shift registers, etc.

it's also a cool piece of history

Thanks loss! I like looking at these old schematics; I remember seeing something similar on PAIA's site - a few pdfs of DIY synths and such.

Ah yes, here we go: http://www.paia.com/manuals/docs/GNOME-howto-article.PDF

Cool stuff!

I built parts of this. The simpler parts. http://www.sdiy.org/richardc64/rtlsynth/rtlsynth.html The rest was too intimidating, at the time. Still is. Instead of the encoder method of generating equal tempered, I dropped the frequency of the of the High Frequency Clock VCO and controlled it with a resistor-string keyboard

Indeed. The shift-register timbre generation is pure Lunetta.
