can anyone point me in the right direction to either getting a dynamic mic on a gooseneck like what comes with the g2x, or somewhere where i can buy a 18" gooseneck XLR cable?

anyone?
thanks!

Check out this one: Audio-Technica ATR-3M DJ Console

welcome to electro-music.com

I was just out in Victoria last month for a wedding. What a beautiful place. You are lucky to live there.

I think the Samson Audio CM15P - Gooseneck Podium Mic should fit too.

Beyer Dynamic has a lot of gooseneck mics:

AKG, Sennheiser and Shure used to have such mics too.

rad! thanks for the links and the warm welcome. yes victoria is a great place. kinda slow sometimes, but i guess that comes with the whole laid-back thing.

i just started thinking after i posted this that maybe a small gooseneck mic might not be the best microphone for what i want to do: live vocoding. I figure i need a super-cardiod or shotgun dynamic mic... but its been a while since i've used microphones or done anything with them.

does anyone here use their g2 for live vocoding in a loud-as-f*ck club environment?

steve

PS: my g2 is due in the mail next week... can't wait for it.

I use the vocoder on the G2 quite a bit. Not in clubs though but I have used it on stage. Here's a piece, a lament for Bob Moog, that I recorded last night.

Hey stevecotheque,

I don't know if you got my private message.

I'm in Vancouver. I am a Clavia G2 sounddesigner / tester. We're organizing a meet in vancouver in early October:

For a far less expensive and probably better alternative is the AKG BT 330. These are extremely underrated and they go for 20-25 USD on ebay. Make no mistake about it, the AKG BT 330 is a brilliant little microphone. I have used it for everything from vocoding ( the bass cut off filter is brilliant ) to recording violins.
