Wretch machine query? Can it play an existing riff?? |
|
|
Hi- i've been listening to a lot of demos of the wretch machine and am seriously considering buying one-
i am just wondering if its possible to get a chromatic scale out of this beast-
i.e can i play an existing melody or riff on it or is it really for creating unique sounds:?:
I love the tone of the wretch and have always experimented with distorting synths but i would like to use it on melody/riff based songs rather then dnb or pure electronica
Does anyone have any examples of the wretch without drum backing that can illustrate this possibility - what i would ideally like is if some cool person posted a nice octave or so of a typical wretch synth patch.
Or a clip of someone playing Gary Numans Cars on the Wretch Machine
Thanks |

You can get about 2 octaves of range out of it. It is capable of playing chromatic scales, but I must warn that calibration can be time consuming, and it does drift. But yeah, I've done a number of tracks, at least one of which is posted in here somewhere. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

1- yes
2- no
Sounds like a challange
hmmm thats cool - i suppose you could just sample it or something?
Think i may be best to get the Waveshaper first and see if i can use that!
Im basically searching for the ultimate distoted synth tone but not in a cheezy trance way - i really like the sound of the wretch - its so unique
like a Putney |

Thank you!
There isn't anything else like the Wretch, unless maybe you built something, but honestly, the shark fin waveform really has a unique sound, and put through that filter it just comes out, well, unique.
http://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-16898.html is the first track I posted here at electro-music, and the first track I used the Wretch Machine on. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

I like your stuff its much mellower than mine. I cant seem to calm down long enough to make some nice ambient sounds but it's on my list of things to do. Nice job! |
