Hello all,
I have just finished programming V3 chip - this has a cool new arpeggiator and portamento.

Some sounds
downbeat.mp3 (541 kb)
rock.mp3 (489 kb)
train.mp3 (622 kb)
updown.mp3 (412 kb)

v3 chip information sheet

The V3 chip still supports all old features and is pin compatible ...

PICSYNTH V2 chip is available. This allows variable pitch adjustment of oscillator 1 as well as having very accurate higher note frequencies.
Frequency modulation is now possible.

New samples on the picsynth site.

variation1.wma
This was made by varying pitch of oscillator 1 using the new detune control, a little inspiration followed around the beating notes. Oscillator 1 is also being fed into filter cutoff frequency for interesting peaky filter effects.

spooky.wma
I fed a LFO (sine wave) into PIN2.

The new pic18f1220 chip is cool and performs the task much better than the 16f628 did ! I hope to have a few pictures of other peoples picsynths soon.

Just veroboard layouts at the moment.

I am working on PC board layouts but this is going to take a while as I want to remake and test everything before publishing them.

I have also got fairly distracted with new software functions for V3 chip this holidays!

Any chance you can publish the source code. I'd learn a lot from it.

No sorry, the hex file and/or source code will not be available.

I have had quite a few orders already so you can understand my reasons.

Hope this is not disappointing.

What I will do I think is perhaps reveal some more of the ideas/algorithms in the PICSynth site BLOG for people who want to program themselves - the fun will be for you to work this stuff out yourself rather than just use someone elses source code.
