Hi all,

I FINALLY got the malfunctioning FX send on my console fixed and I now have my system set up with stereo sends and stereo returns to and from the G2 Engine, which I am using as a dedicated FX processor.

So I decided to create some 'true stereo' effects patches. Nearly all FX devices these days are stereo out, meaning they create a stereo effect like stereo reverb, stereo chorus, etc. but quite a few of them are not 'true stereo' because they sum the L&R inputs to a mono signal before feeding it to the effects blocks. while this is not necessarily a shortcoming and many great sounding products work this way (like the Lexicon PCM70), a true stereo device sounds different because it processes each side of the stereo signal separately.

The attached patch has a true stereo flanger and a true stereo chorus in parallel, and then these are sent to a true stereo delay (along with the dry stereo signal). This way, if your original signal has significant stereo information like brass on the left and strings on the right, this true stereo patch will retain this stereo image more than a mono-sum stereo patch would.

next up - a true stereo version of a complex DIY reverb patch I made a while ago....
