OK.. long story.. or whatever..
Main point is that you should add Wolfgang Palm ( www.myspace.com/wolfgangpalm ) as your friend.
This is part of a birthday surprise thingie arranged by Björn, his stepson.
Go! Go!
Who is Wolgang Palm? He is the mastermind behind good old PPG!

Wolfgang Palm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wolfgang Palm was a founder and owner of Palm Products GmbH (PPG), and the inventor and creator of various pioneering technical designs for analog and digital synthesizers. He is widely acknowledged as the father of digital synthesis, and as a trendsetter in the use of computer technology in the making of electronic music.
Palm's interest in synthesis technology began as a keyboardist in various local bands in his hometown of Hamburg, Germany. His namesake corporation began operating as early as 1975, manufacturing modular synthesizers in small amounts for electronica act Tangerine Dream. This collaboration would eventually grow into a lasting one; members of Tangerine Dream would contribute money and product designs to Palm throughout PPG's existence.
Palm is arguably most famous for the invention of wavetable synthesis, a concept which he developed in the late 1970's when he created his Minimoog-like synthesizer - the 1020 - featuring DCO's instead of the VCO's his 1002 and all other analog synthesizers of that time were using - and the 360 Wavecomputer that would later become the renowned PPG Wave series. Palm's design was the impetus for the creation of the highly successful PPG Wave synthesizer, which was used by numerous bands throughout the 1980's and beyond. The sounds in the PPG Wave inspired other manufacturers of digital synthesizers, such as Sequential Circuits and Ensoniq. Today, nearly every digital synthesizer is in some way based on the concept of wavetable synthesizers.
Wolfgang Palm was also one of the first people to experiment with data transmission systems for exchange of data between digital synthesizers and sequencers. His early design of an 8-bit parallel bus system was later abandoned and replaced by MIDI. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Too bad the myspace page is unreadable - kind of hard to find a 'befriend button'...

I´ve told Björn that already. It might be that he uses IE6 and a myspace template editor that is only dysfunctionally functional with IE6. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Happy b-day to Wolfie! Tell me, is he related to Wofgang Mozart ot Wolfgang Van Halen or Wolfgang Priklopil? Can he play Highway To Hell? _________________ Where there are too many policemen, there is no liberty. Where there are too many soldiers, there is no peace. I added him, but am planning on nuking the myspace account - too useless. That is one annoying background, though. |

Yep. Quite a brilliant man! The PPG instruments I personally know; the Wave series + various addons, were awesome at the time and... the menu system on the Wave + the knobs is still among the best interfaces for this particular class of synths. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
