I am serous about learning electronics. I am going to get a certificate in robotics. I thought of this lab as my ticket back into electronics. I was going to get an I pod classic for Christmas but changed my mind. I have a workshop full of tools and some empty tackle boxes. I have the basic knowledge of circuit diagrams. My only question is what do you guys think of this thing?

Have fun. I have a kit like his and like it very much - I would use it more but I am a bit shot on space here. Once you are past the basics, you will find these kits are very, very nice for making simple synthesizers. And you can find some mini-analog interfaces quite cheap, like less than $50.

As soon as you know about the safe voltages, get some audio cables and strip on end so you can connect to the breadboard...then put the other end into G2 outputs and inputs.

I grew up with a similar kit, and ultimately became an electrical engineer Wink So maybe I'm predisposed to like these things, but I do think they are fantastic tools for learning on! Just buy a breadboard for adding & expanding any new components once you feel you've outgrown those 500 labs!
