I'm havng a problem with sequencer reset. The attached patch is part of a much larger performance. The sequence plays correctly under normal circumstances.. but if I stop playback while the second sequencer is active, and then press Run again.. the kick drum plays twice and gets out of sync with everything else.

This is a standard serial connection for sequencers, and I can't see what I've done wrong. Any suggestions?

TIA x 10^6

Well, I still don't know why this happens.. but changing the offending sequencers from Trigger to Gate mode solves it.

I suspect a bug, I do. Really.

Spoke too soon. The Gate just moves the timing around.. I don't get a double hit, which fooled me at first when testing.

Glad you solved it, I didn't have a clue.

Jan.

It has to do with how the Rst and Lp inputs reset the chain.

It can be solved by connecting the Clk Active signal to the Lp inputs on the second and other sequencer modules.
This is apparently forgotten in the manual examples, but my guess is it will be in the manual examples for future updates.

Thanks Rob!

This is the best solution.

Yes, thanks x 10^6, Rob! That does it with no wierd stuff.

Thanks, too Varice, for your efforts. I was about to insert the 0.1 msec delay when Rob spoke up -

I have noticed the binary counter resets on numbers 1 earlier than what is placed on the Rst input. (Ex. 1 AND 4 plugged into the rst makes it reset on 4, so it counts to 3 and resets to 0.) Is this related to this issue of "extra beat" problems in other seq modules?

zynthetix,

It appears that the actual output of the binary counter is one count ahead of what the output LEDs indicate! When the counter is reset, all of the LEDs indicate the outputs are all low, but output 1 is actually high. Use independent logic level indicators on the outputs and you will see the problem. Looks like a bug.

According to Clavia it is a known bug that will be fixed in the next OS update. It is already fixed in the G2 demo software.

ok, thanks, I was confused. It is easy enough to work around but it is good to know it will be tweaked in the next OS update.
