Acclaimed-musician Scott August, a multi-instrumentalist best-known for his artistry in playing Native American wood flutes, has crafted a new recording, Radiant Sky, inspired by ancient indigenous cultures and their fascination with the night sky and its celestial bodies. The music is serene, meditative and mystical. August has created contemplative musical dreamscapes evocative of the night-time heavens.

August plays some traditional Indian flutes, but also shows why he his one of the small handful of musicians in the world who have mastered the difficult and tricky-to-play Anasazi rim-blown flutes which anthropologists believe were originally only used 750 to more than 1300 years ago. But then August puts down the flutes and stretches out on keyboards and guitars to create ethereal textured tracks.

It makes for a beautiful, floating, relaxing recording. Hear the wind.
