Hi all,

The result of playing around with the noise osc & comb filter. The idea was to create an airy or breathy sound that falls somewhere between pitched and unpitched noise, like the 'air' artifacts in a rompler sound.

I found that for this type of sound, the noise oscs & comb filter don't have to track the keyboard 100% to get the desired effect. In fact it sounds better with maybe 30-50% tracking, so the air effect sounds 'right' across a larger key range.

Two variations, no knob assignments. Enjoy!

Hi Dave.

I have tried to put your wonderful patch on a diet. Less oscillators, less FX, well ... less everything.
3 variations and knob-assignments.

Instead of tremolo on the wind I modulate the feedback on the comb filter which works rather well (IMHO).

I hope you don't think I mutilated it to much.

Hello all.

After some more thought and listening I made a new version. The band reject filter was really needed so I had to remove the chorus from the VA. I put in some random panning instead and added back the chorus to the FX.

The other major mistake I made was to filter the feedback on the delays, made a large change to the sound when I removed that.

Memo to self: When copying davep, copy the right bits and pay attention to the details Very Happy

Is it good enough for G2 Patches - Completed or should we petition davep to copy the original there?

Regards
/Falk
