Hi droffset, State Machine,
Speaking of Arduino variants--I'm really looking forward to getting one of these:

Thanks,

@droffset - It's nice to randomly come across your own work posted here =]
Thanks for that - I'll have more sound/synth experiment vids up soon
I'm pretty psyched about the Maple board - which is apparently shipping at the end of this month. Jumping from an ATMega @16MHz up to an ARM @ 72MHz is a little mind blowing! I was finally getting accustomed to the limitations with audio interrupts on Arduino - oh well! _________________ - Collin Mel |

I did acquire me a Maple and wrote up some early impressions over @ makezine -
http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2010/01/arduino_vs_maple_-_early_impression.html
suffice it to say, it performs at least some of the Arduino library functions around 9 times as fast as the Arduino Duemilanove
I'm guessing this greater-than-expected speediness is due in part to their implementation of the digitalWrite/Read function.
The LeafLabs crew is still banging away @ a final release of the software install for OS X & Windows - but they seem very close. You can check out much of their progress in piecemeal on their forums -

Wavetable on arduino |
 |
|
I have it working with MIDI. on an arduino mega. this can currently generate 3 differently tuned oscillators, each can play a different pitch and wavetable (with detune, sync and glide), and also generate 2 envelopes as well, I think i can push it to do a couple of LFOs. so far I have 9 wavetables, but i will make more when I am finished with it, it takes too long to upload them each time i make a change.
I have used parallel DACs on the output (envelope PWM controls DAC reference voltage) i am still looking in to multiplexing DACs so i dont have to use so many pins.
also the filter board in the video is a dual one, but i am only using one filter IC.
The second arduino is there to get data for debugging and display it, but now i have decided to use it as a MIDI controller for the waveteble generator, and take all the potentiometers off the mega.

the code was originally based on this:
http://adrianfreed.com/content/arduino-sketch-high-frequency-precision-sine-wave-tone-sound-synthesis (with permission.)
eventually i hope to design an easilly buildable "sheild" with 2 DACs, PWM filtering, VCF, MIDI in, and audio out. |

The video shows the arduino gating an audio signal on/off.
I don't see anything that has to do with wavetables on that site or in the video. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

True - you'll have to download the WavePot code I linked to in the blog post to find the actual wavetable goodness.
@defex - sweet sounds & setup - you're patience with breadboarding far surpasses my own!
@oldmanfury - that modular version is 10x cooler than my example! I'd love to post/link to it on makezine if cool w/ you? _________________ - Collin Mel |

Certainly. I'll do my best to shoot a video soon too... I have a lovely patch wired right now modulating the bejeezus out of the Grunge. |
