Mr. Cold!! ARGH, i was really hoping you'd have a recording, i was still in bed when you were on...... Sad

Here's the recording from the AcidTrash NYE stream...(thank you Howard!)

There's massive white noise in the first 2 minutes cuz i had the demo version of NiceCast running for over an hour.....but figured out what it was and reset.

Since this was our first show, we had a couple other problems too, but that's how you learn. We still had alot of fun trying to play for you guys.

Here's the Acoustic Interloper set for this year, consisting of a Just Intonation rendition of Cohen's/Bowman's Crater Dust using a custom GUI with "player piano sequencer" live coding driving some Applied Acoustics physical models, and a spoken word Passing using some experimental reorg/granulation software that I am still working on, fed thru some effects in Live. Good call on the latter, Dr. Steve! The voice reorg stuff is still in a fairly primitive state due to lack of time, but I can see what needs to be done in the code after this coding frenzy up to NYE.

Acoustic Interloper

Here is a screen shot of the alternate intonation keyboard that got its first run yesterday. The intonation is set by a scale-building function -- can be anything, not limited to Just or Equal -- and the keys that show up are a function of a small bit vector. Given the poor human interface nature of single click mousing, there is a 4 x 16 MIDI channel crossbar that helps support polyphony; each MIDI channel can do only monophony because the pitch bend for an alternate scale is specific to that channel's note. The high point, though, is the pop-up live coding window, one per MIDI channel, that lets one write sequencer code on the fly. Code for the keyboard is attached for Jython (Python-over-Java) fans.
