Awesome news Kevin! Unfortunately I can't seem to access your website right now. Perhaps it's suffered the same fate as Apple did when iOS 4 hit town? Wink Very Happy

You can listen to Blue Hell using TC-11 on this track. http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-51389.html

Just for you, lala, here are short samples of all the 1.1 presets:

(replace ## with the patch number, 1-64)

A bit of an electro-music exclusive for now, since I haven't posted a link to these anywhere on the Bit Shape site yet. Smile

Any chance of this running audio in the background? I realise it's designed as a live performance tool, however it would be nice to be able to have something else running in the background, like a sequence or something and then perform with TC over top. Problem now is if you switch to the other app to make an adjustment TC shuts off completely. A little disappointing if you have a sequenced patch running.

I think something else that would be cool would be Core midi.... Not to play TC but to allow sync signals into TC to sync delay, sequencer, etc.

Definately a cool app though! Great work. Very Happy

The app's audio format is fixed because of the audio library I'm using, so it won't ever allow background audio. However, I do have lots of plans for sample based objects, one of which will be a audio file player. So yes, it's coming.

Also on the list.

I thought I'd stop in and let you all know: a quick update is coming (caught some errors I wanted fixed ASAP), so I figured I'd throw in this little addition. People have been asking for it:

Core midi would be fantastic. Imagine if the xy signal could be sent to Animoog! Tc is a great program as it is now. The planned additions will make it that much better. I'm glad I got this app. Great work, and it looks like it is about to get even better!

Sounds like some good ideas are planned. Too bad bout not playing in the background though. That really would be a nice addition.

I agree on core midi being desirable, but TC-11 has a beautiful unique sound. I like it better than the Animoog.

Bit Shape, the learning curve is steep and long, but it's a fun row to hoe.

Better than AniMoog? There there's a endorsement you can't argue with! Very Happy

I found these too, on TUAW. They look great for apps like TC-11.

Howard, I have to agree with you. I also think that the TC has much more depth than Animoog. Last night was the first chance that I had the time to really let go and explore some of the presets, and almost two hours went by like it was nothing. Having only Scratched the surface of the patch editor over the past week or so, last nights exploration was a real eye opener as to how deep this program really is.

We may have to have a few iPad workshops at EM 2012. TC-11 alone warrants its own workshop.

I also got to thinking that some form of randomization of parameters option in the patch editing part of the app might lead to some interesting possibilities.

The latest update makes TC11 even more fabulous. I was up playing with it for two hours last night before I realised I really should be asleep!

Really looking forward to being able to hear a patch while it's being patched. Smile

The presets are so good, it's hard to move forward into patching. I have gone to step two; playing a preset and looking at the patch. They are starting to make sense slowly.

There's something unique about the sound of TC-11 that oddly reminds me of the earliest electronic music, like from Berio, Ussachevsky, Mumma, and the like. I must be crazy.

You're not (crazy). I agree with you totally. I too am Kid Baltan without a lot of effort- if any!

I'm having fun working with TC-11 though I wouldn't say it's better then Animoog. It's certainly not worse either...just different. It is very disappointing to hear it will never work in background audio mode. I was having a real blast earlier running step poly arp into alchemy mobile, setting up a drone type of background and then playing different synths over top...Animoog, Thumbjam, Morphwiz (I switched between those three, didn't have them loaded at the same time). It really made the iPad feel like a performance system rather then just a performance synth. I was able to flip back and forth between alchemy and whatever synth I was using to make performance changes. I really would have liked to been able to use TC in either the drone or performance position - it's live performance features would really enhance the overall performance. Ah well.

Hoping there will be some more tutorial vids soon. Right now doing what Howard's doing...studying other patches. The existing preset group is pretty cool.

Bit Shape replied earlier in this thread. He said because of the library he's using TC will never operate in background audio mode. Of course I always assume that 'never' in s/w implies 'not very likely' as s/w development tools change as they go thru revisions. I guess for while there was no hope for Thumbjam operating in bg audio mode....but now it does. So, in time perhaps TC will eventually.

It's still really powerful as it stands now. I suppose I could get a second iPad... Wink

Btw...Bit Shape....when you do finally get Core Midi working, PLEASE allow the midi channels to be selectable rather then being stuck at channel 1. A couple apps do this now and it's very irritating. Very Happy

Actually having a second iPad doesn't seem such a bad idea. If a new pad comes out in March, all the original versions will be very cheap! Idea

And also, having a secondary iPad may be a great way of editing TC11, if one is used as a controller, the second being in Patch edit mode. Idea
