I'd like to have sources of pink (1/f) and brown (1/f^2) noise, primarily for control purposes (low frequency). Does anyone have a method for generating these?

If you use the noise oscillator, and set the colour to parameter to
127, the spectrum analyzer shows that the frequency roll-off is about
3 dB per octave... which is about right for pink noise (3.0103... dB/Octave)

Maybe Rob can shed some light on the subject?

Greetz,

Here's two noise sources, some filter methods and ways to get random signals by filtering and random walk.

Twisted Evil Stop and be warned!!! You need to use your own braincells here. There is no ''I pay you a silver dollar and all I have to do is plug, pray, press the demo button and get all the girls" in these ones. Twisted Evil

Well, my slight sarcasm was indeed not directed towards you but more in general. I'm glad you understood.
In fact, on this forum my remark was definitely out of place, as there are so many outstanding people around here. Which can not be said of lots of other lists and fora on the net. I'm glad we have a good home here. Very Happy

Keep up the good work,
/Rob

Having said all that, if anyone does have a patch which gets you all the girls with the simple touch of a button, I'm sure they could make a lot of money. Please post it here asap.
I never knew women responded to specific frequencies - and if it can be reproduced in the form of a small whistle worn around the neck, so much the better.

Fortunately some independant, fundamental scientiffic research into this was done by that most esteemed of scenes; the boom-car scene. It turns out, according to what I read on this facinating subject, that a frequency of 33Hz is especially stimulating to the female neither regions. Not realy something for a whistle but not that hard with some decent woofers either.

(I realy did read a article on that, pull a google if you want to read it too.)

There are some secert extra techniques with particularly intricate patching structures but I fear those are only revealed to the serious student of modular synthesis after years of intence study.
