Electric Druid VCADSR, emulation of CEM 3312 and SSM 2056, based on PIC16F684. This is the simple version, with global time CV and attenuator, doing the full-on version with seperate CV over A, D, S and R next. The sockets of the left that look like multiples are.....multiples.

I went to the Metal Supermarket this week and had them make me up some aluminium panels. Here is my first panel. The module is a Quad 40106 VCO. I'll wire it up tonight.

The gauge is 0.08" which is plenty stiff enough for my 8.75" tall panels. I find 0.063" is too flexible (unless you put a bend in it - not easy by hand). 0.125 is too thick: once combined with the piece of L-bracket I use to mount the circuit boards it would be too thick for the thread on the pots to still protrude enough to secure them with the nuts.
I can't remember what the type is. I had intended to buy 6061 but they didn't have it in the right gauge, so I just went for something else they had on the floor.

Thanks for the info - I recently did a module with a bridechamber blank front panel, and had the issue you mentioned with the pot threads. I think if I go with more bridechamber panels I'll have to use his brackets as well. I stopped doing that because I use the 1" grid for my controls, so the pot holes on the bracket are a problem.
"Recycler" based on the forthcoming Electric Druid LoopEnv1 PIC. This is the full-on version featuring:
- voltage control over A, D, S, R and global time
- 'Out' 0v - 5v out for envelope use
- 'BP' (bipolar out) +/-5v out for VCLFO use
- three way mode switch ADSR/Gated looping/Looping
- Lin/Log switch - Lin is good for VCLFO modes, Log for VCASDR mode

Not exactly a synth, but it does make synths louder, a tube amplifier i just finished using an old RCA carcass that a friend of mine gave me. Two 6SL7s and a 6SN7 for the preamp, two fixed bias 6L6GCs for the poweramp and a tube rectifier. It's the first one i have done all point to point, and i ended up really liking that construction style, it looks kind of crazy inside but everything is right where i want it, and it sounds great with very very low noise.

EMF Detector and White noise generator
And here's something I just finished. Not really a synth but it does make sound.
It's an EMF Detector and White noise generator
I noticed that when you bring the pick-up coil close to the meter it starts to oscillate.
So I attached a little coil to the switch contact of the jack for the pick-up coil
and glued it onto the back of the meter. So I can make nice tweeps with it.
The tip of the meter has some neonpaint on it so I added 2 UV LED's to the sides of it.

Did you make the panels yourself? They look absolutely stunning. _________________ There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Phobos, that EMF detector looks marvelous! I made one once which looked slightly similar (lots of knobs and a meter) but that was before I really knew anything about electronics. Sold it to an american ghost hunter
Any chance of getting some sound examples of your device?
Also, rather than a photo of something I've built, here is a photo of the building process in my lab

thanks, funny you mention ghost hunter, I made it for possible EVP recordings, that's why I also added the white noise generator
and as for sounds, I just did a session with the EMF detector, dronoscope, and 2 synthboxes a few days ago
which will be uploaded shortly (Hope to get that done this weekend)
but right now I'm working on a circuit called the jingler named after some mad scientist here on the forums

Let me take this oportunity to say, if you like that one take a gander at these
(Thats not even anywhere near half of all of them ) _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I could be wrong about this but lets find out"
This is the synth so far ,very much ghetto style but all is working fine ,missing a sequence in the picture and so i guess also missing a lot of fun so that's next or so ,and just to say thanks to all the folks in the chatroom that been really helpful ,all the circuits are not over complicated ones and all is build on stripboard except for a mfos vco , the modules are : VCA X 2, Wave Wiper, CGS Slope Detector, Magic Smoke LFX, Oberheim EFM clone - VCF, Seq Switch X 2, Analog Neuron, Jerk Off - Chaos module, CV Twister, Music From Outer Space - VCO, Morphlag ,Grinder and Voltage Mixer

Thats the best style of all, because it means you are probably putting function over form _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I could be wrong about this but lets find out"
