That's funny, I was thinking your solution might be cheaper and easier than pot chiclets. I guess having done it you would disagree. |

I believe there are two main variants of these BI/TT Tech pots, the P260P and P260T.
The P260P are classed as Side adjust and have the pins designed to mount the pot to a PCB with the shaft in line with the PCB.
The P260T is classed as a Top adjust and have longer pins that are designed to mount the pot to a PCB with the shaft at 90 degrees to the PCB.
Here's a link to a datasheet that may make things a little clearer:
http://www.rapidonline.com/netalogue/specs/68-1175e.pdf
It looks to me that the variant defex has used is the P260T. Most of the P260 series I have seen for sale (and bought from places like Rapid in the UK) are the P260P type. A neat solution to panel wiring though.
Oh, and by the way, for MTA connectors to fit this pin spacing you will need MTA100 connectors, not MTA156 (0.1" compared to 0.156").
I hope that makes things a little clearer.
Regards

Thanks, indeed that does make it clearer. I've looked all over for variations on the P260 and have found the same, that the P260P is the only one generally available. I'm saving up to buy 240 from a US distributor... God knows how many I'd have to buy if I were to order the P260T.

I meant creating a whole single sided board for all of the PC mount pots and having just a couple of big headers instead of all those small ones. Just to make it neater. I can do that pretty fast now and the pulsar pro paper + laminator makes it really easy
for smaller projects i will keep doing it this way, it does have the advantage of making it easy to replace a pot if one dies. |

A page back you can see my first Son of Storm Tide Flanger build - but I recently built another one for someone else, and took the opportunity to tweak the panel a little. I moved the pots around, so that the ones I was using the most were all at the top, and added the v/oct tracking knob I completely forgot on the first one.

finally got my triple chorus, krautrock phaser and tau behind a proper labellled panel rather than a cheap piece of anyonymous plastic. never one for being economical, I've let these little beauties stretch their legs amongst no less than 4, yes count 'em 4U of spacious grounds. gave them my own names, as I am often wont to do for a bit of fun. A firm nod is always directed towards Mr Haible whenever their provenance is discussed, however.

@L-1 Very nice Living VCO build! I love the mounting bracket. I'm considering something very similar on a large panel I'm building now. |

Been a while since posting anything here, but here is a Solina Chorus module I finished t'other day. I'm really pleased with the finish on this, something I've been considering for some time and now feel able to show and continue using for all my builds from now on... Now to repanel all the other stuff!
