This is my original custom build Telefunken rack unit. Telefunken 373A's have been described as "Sonic Wolves disguised in Sheepskin" designed for the Highest demands of German Broadcasters. If you want some really special compressors with incredible sonic enhancement capabilities Telefunken is the way to go. Deep thick and rich sound qualities good for use on Vocals, Drums and Synths. I bought the 373A's back in the 1990's at the Vemia Auctions in England as two separate units , no power or rack, and shipped to NY City where I had Mr. Kawana (several years later) build the rack and power supply for both Telefunken units in January of 2001. On the top of the rack you can see his custom milled logo "Kawanatron" pretty awesome. Mr. Kawana use to work for Doctor Sound NYCity as their lead Audio Engineer repair person, prior to that he worked for Roland R+D in Japan as I have been told. He did a beautiful job in mounting these little but mighty compressors with craftsmanship and engineering getting a A+ as you will see from the photos. Both units still slide in and out of their holding trays as they would have in their original mountings. You have balanced XLR's or 1/4" ins and outs. Another Bonus is you can Switch from 110 to 220 Volts if you wish by swapping out the back circuit breaker. You will find all the wiring to be done to a very high state of organized perfection and everything is working as it should. This unit has had very light use, smoke free studio use only, and no giging or roadie work at all. If you ever wanted something a little different for compressors and of Analog quality , collectable and timeless, these might be the units for you. Find it on Ebay!
