Some Klee Issues

hi guys,
i have some issues with my Klee build. at first, as far as i can tell everything was running ok. then problems started with section A.
first step 2 went out of function. after a while it's now steps 1-4 that don't work anymore. i.e. the output cv for these steps is the lowest as if the fader is turned all the way down. also there are no gates for these steps.

also, another problem that i observed just recently is that i can't program steps 5+6. however, step 5 occasionally works if programmed together with step 4. it's also shown in the youtube video.
in this video step 5 appears to work sometimes after deactivating step 4.

another weird thing is that the ranges switch doesn't give correct ranges anymore. manual never worked and now it's only 2 of the fixed ranges working but i think they're also not in the right position, i have to check that again.

any tips maybe where i could start troubleshooting? bad soldering maybe or could it be i fried a chip when i hooked up a not working module to the system? (shorted)
any hints / thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Just a SWAG after building mine, I'd expect gate/step problems to be on the digital board. If you're not getting the gates I wouldn't expect the steps to work.

Since this popped back up, I'd also recommend reading the troubleshooting section of NV's build doc. The most common problems seem to be with the MTA cables.

thanks guys, that's what i'm hoping. it can't be much, as it worked before. there is the possibility that some ICs were hurt when i connected the add on boards to the random looping sequencer couple of times in a couple of wrong ways (shorts, and they were in the same system)

i haven't really checked since back then, also a few months break from diy (or GAS) but now comes troubleshooting of some of my modules.

i'll report back when i find something

There are a lot of inter-board, and off board connections. We did that to simplify the boards, and maximise options, but it means you do have to make them VERY reliable.
On the prototype, I crimped, AND SOLDERED, every connector as I went. It worked perfectly almost immediately, and has never missed a beat. That is what I would be double checking first.
