I am working on a lin VCA. Nothing special, straight forward with LM13700.
But... there is a tradeoff between THD and S/N ratio. For what distortion
should i go? I can reach 0.1%. with selected 13700. Or even better with lower differntial input.
Should there be different distortion between Log and lin VCA? Because lin are mostly used for CV processing and log for audio.

Are you using the linearizing diode pin?
Like in the datasheet or in this thread:

If you´re concerned about THD and S/N as in hi-fi, go with THAT vca´s (costly but excellent), but for usual synth-duties (like CV processing), I would call that overkill...

The above schematic is the best simple one I know, apart from vactrols.
