I never got around to asking this question at electro-music gatherings:

What sort of portable instrument-laptop-equipment tables do people use and recommend? Where do you get them?

I need to get some tables to use in the planetarium, with easy setup & tear down, and will undoubtedly use them in gigs such as electro-music festivals. Wheels would be useful for the planetarium, but are not essential. Anything easy to transport, set up, tear down, with stability and reliability are of interest.

Thanks!

Dale

I'd just use a Quiklok-style keyboard stand and cut a plywood base (painted black) to lay across it; possibly adding a couple of cross-pieces on the bottom to stop it moving sideways and some edging to prevent the kit from sliding off. You could also add holes for cables or zip ties to run through, to help keep it neat and stable.

A bit of a slow reply, but I hope it helps.

Something that works for laptops is the tripod black music stands like those made by K&M, etc. If you get the ones that have holes in the music shelf you get the added benefit of extra cooling for the laptop. I've used these several times. Surprisingly stable.
