Xeroid Entity "transports" audience |
|
|
I had the opportunity to hear Xeroid Entity live at the Dearhead Inn in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania - a respected jazz club that has launched many fine acts. I must say it was highly enjoyable. I am only sorry our party's plans allowed us to stay just for the first set.
As I told the Inn's owner and the group during their break, it was highly enjoyable and "transportive." If that's even a word, it describes as aptly as I can the out-of-body experience one feels with their music (and I was drinking cranberry juice). Being live, at first I wanted to watch. Then I closed my eyes and didn't want to open them. The sounds took me away from the here-and-now as it progressed so musically from movement to movement. Not just showing off samples or just emulating anything you've heard before - but "real" music nonetheless.
I am not astute in their instrumentation, so I can't say I could identify this box or that, just that they were so together, as any musical ensemble strives to be. Their preparation showed. And the sound quality was like a fine stereo and no louder (or softer) than I play mine at home. Try to hear them for yourself. I hope you agree - Xeroid Entity is art. _________________ Robin Miller |

Yes, thank you indeed, Robin. I think I left my sunglasses in your van or perhaps they dropped somewhere while unloading. I have B's 9th, 4th movement transferred and plan to do the first three soon. Then I can get to the Xeroid Entity tapes from the Deer Head Inn. I think we're going to have some nice music to release from that show! Thanks again for the review and nice comments. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------
