I've never experienced it, but I have never tried that exact patch. He has ruled out the power supply, so I'm not sure what it could be. Maybe one of the pots rotated a bit, and there's a short somewhere? It seems like the problem would be more obvious if that were the case.

In case anyone was wondering, he now believes the problem was power supply or ground related.
