Subject description: Need help to setup the Engine to my iMac

Hello,
I just bought a G2 Engine. As the Engine documentation is very poor I would need some help. I can't play the Engine via my MIDI keyboard.
I have connected the Engine via USB to my iMac (running MacOs Mavericks), MIDI in/out to my Maschine Studio out/in and Audio to my Fireface 800.
In added the G2 to my Audio-MIDI-Setup. When I check the MIDI connection I get response from the MIDI indicator, so the cables work.
I can open the Editor, I have sound when using the Editor's keyboard but I can't play the patches via MIDI (I have a Virus Polar as masterkeyboard connected via USB).
What am I doing wrong. No MIDI from either the Virus or the Maschine Studio. Do I misunderstand something? What is the best way to set the Engine up to be able to play it via MIDI keyboard?
Thanks for your help!
Florian

the first think I would do would be to connect directly your master keyboard (MIDI out) to the G2 engine (MIDI in) and see what happens.
if that works the problem could be some software incompatibility or wrong software setting.

I would like to understand:
When I connect the Engine via MIDI directly to a controller keyboard (and the audio of course to my Fireface), how can I record MIDI from the Engine in Logic (Pro X)?

Have you checked the Midi channels of the NMG2?
They always work with the keyboard floater but it is not necessary the same midi channel you want to your midi device/computer.
