Here's my personal experience on YouTube's monetization. I have uploaded 100 videos of live electronic music and observed how much income it made.

Very interesting indeed, Joo Won!

As I have understood it, there are people who make a living out of Youtube, but they have hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of views.

Apparently Soundcloud is going the same way, but only for licenced content. This means that private uploads should stay unaffected.

And you have to be prepared to only do the kind of strange and pointless stuff kids love these days, like this hero of my nation:

Yes--thank you for posting this detailed analysis. I wonder if there are stats available showing what other content providers make. Surely someone must be making money.
Steve

PS: I didn't know about your video series. I am already up to Number 2! Now up to Number 9. You have a lot of variety there!! I will have to listen to more.

Hey Joo Won Park!
I love the sounds! And really appreciate the data you've posted, although it's not particularly encouraging. I've been doing a lot of field recording of my own playing objects, and don't know what to do with it, maybe I'll also turn it into a YouTube channel and monetize, but I'm hoping to find a gallery where I can show it as a sound art project. Much more experimental than the stuff I've done before!
If anyone else has other statistics, I'd love to see them!
