Hi everyone, first time poster here. I apologise if this is the wrong section for this question.

For uni I am designing a modular synth which is to be controlled by a software interface via a micro controller. First I plan to have just a VCO with digital potentiometers for the CV inputs. Once I get this working I then plan to add module by module.

I haven't had much experience with digital potentiometers. Will there be issues with the amount of current that would be drawn through the digital pots? How accurate can a digital pot get? I would be using the 1V/octave standard which means the pot would need a resolution to cater for 83.333mV steps (semitones). It does depend on the current draw, I've read that its usually around 4mA for CV? Is there some sort of standard?

If anyone could suggest a suitable part for this that would be great!

Cheers.
