Trigger Riot on a G2? Subject description: Logic Gate Matrix Trigger... |
 |
|
Hello everybody, i was just looking at the new very cool Eurorack module from Tiptop Audio called "Trigger Riot" and i was seriously thinking to save cash and get one. In the other hand i thought that i will need to trigger more MIDI than CV (i have a really small modular system..) and i thought to make one on my G2 (the file is attached).
However it's been a long time since i patched anything and i'm really rusty, i was thinking that could be good to work on this together!
If anybody is interested here is a video with a good description of the module:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjKLewx17iQ
I already started the base making the matrix clock dividers, delay and probability. However i'm scratching my head on the best way to sum the clocks together. I used logic gates but something is still not right and on the second raw i tried for fun to use the DX Router thinking that it could be interesting to add the algorithms in the equation.
Problems:
1) I think on the original module, when the knob is set to 0, the clicks go trough to the next raw/column. I tried to find an elegant way to do this but no success so far... any ideas?
2) Something is not right on the sum of the clicks, they are not behaving properly. I suspect it's because problem 1...
3) Pulse width and MIDI feature will be connected when the first two problem will be solved...
4) Would be top to add Velocity to it, that will bring more life to the drums, maybe a step sequencer at the end of each raw/column progressing with each trig ...
Would be great if we could develop all the Matrix functions of the original module and spice it up with some more features, i'm sure that will benefit all the G2 community!
I will keep working on this, but in the meantime if you guys have any suggestions/advices please let me know!!
Best!

Here is the first version, only the first two raws are patched to basic DrumSynth for testing... I will implement the MIDI later... |

I had another play last night, but no major progress... I need to understand the data coming out the modules, i wish it was possible to have a precise list/monitor of the data stream output as a list... |

Wow! Id love a trigger riot! Did you ever get this working close?
Id love a patch like a Voltage Block to animate external hardware parameters, but with some randomness. |
