Hello!

This question is regarding a Yamaha VSS200 toy sampler but I believe it can be seen as more general.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_VSS-200

How likely is it I would be able to disable a keyboard split function on such a machine?

The machine has a pretty funny sampler but since the engineers of Yamaha probably found the sound being ugly when going to far down the keyboard they made a split point somewhere in the middle so it always plays the regular FM-sounds on the lower half of the keyboard whenever sampling is activaded.

Without sampling the whole keyboard can be used for one sound so I was thinking maybe I could force this functionality when sampling is on too. But if it's all in software then it will be hard. If it's more a hardware thing maybe it's not so hard.

I have no idea and although I user a soldering iron from time to time I have no clue in the field of circuit bending.

Any advice?
