Hi Yves

Im thinking of making a gated slew, and ordering all the parts, but farnell dont sell bf245s anymore.

While i seem to be able to get some on ebay, ive got a number of j201s already so wondering if theyd be a suitable replacement?

many thanks, regards
Ben

Did the J201 work? It looks like the pinout is the reverse from the BF245.

I was actually thinking of using the 2N5457 as an alternative to the BF245B. The specs look similar.

Does anyone have experience with this as a substitute or perhaps have a better alternative?

I've dropped in BF256C (recommended by reichelt as I looked for BF245C). I'm pleased with their performance in this circuit.

Looking at the datasheets, the 256 has somewhat 'better' specs, too -- if it's used in a switch-like configuration.
