As long as the inputs of the buffers are high impedance that should be fine. Not that it would break anything otherwise but it
could affect the voltages, they'd still be the same for both though. At least that's what I think, I've never actually tried it.

I have a similar design using capacitors rather than pots. As many 4051s as you wish can read out the waveform at different frequencies.

@IGR ... nothing significant about 0167 ... Mike just has 8 potentiometers which he as numbered 0 through 7 because they connect to inputs 0 through 7 of the 4051. But to reduce repetition he has only drawn the first and last two.
