Hi,

I am wondering if any one tried amp and cabinet simulation with the G2. Since the Nord Stage announcement, I feel like if I -=NEED=- amp simulation hehehe...

I worked on it a bit, but without any good result. I found a site with a program that calculate and draw frequency response for some amps/eq

I tried to recreate the Marshall EQ, but I am not sure if I am using a good method. I used filters because I had problems controlling the level of the 1 peak EQ modules.

The rest of the patch is pretty standard. Overdrive and reverb... and a 1.5ms delay because I wanted to diffuse the sound a bit.

However, it really doesn't seems to sound like the real thing... too synthetic... I do not know a lot about amp, or amp sim. I have a small fender amp but not with me here. I don't have any commercial amp simulation either.

Would anyone have some tips on how to achieve the same kind of EQ response that the one provided with the program? Any tips on achieving a distortion similar to older amp?

Thanks

I'm not very interested in amp simulation, but I think the keys are creating the appropriate distortion and satruation characteristics. Rob Hordijk has written extensively on and provided patches for both effects. I would try to read everything he as written and study his patches extensively. I'm sure the G2 has all the tools needed.
