I hate to be the one to bring this sad news ...

http://www.moogmusic.com/

I think we should all post some of our best Moog-ish patches in memory og Bob. Maybe some Moog modular module emulations ...

I met Bob a number of times at the NAMM shows, and he was a great, warm and down to earth guy. A great father figure for us ...

I for one will work on something in his memory.

I don't think this is OT. If people have patches to post in honor of Bob Moog, this topic is a great place for that. If you have general comments, it might be best to post them at the topic Seraph mentioned: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-7541.html

I have one of the original Moog Modular synthesizer. I never found another synth worth having until the original Nord Modular. (I own a few in the interim but they are nothing worth remembering). I think the Nord Modular is a true decendant of the Moog Modular. Now, I have a G2X. I hardly play my Moog anymore because the G2 is so much more capable. But today I think I'll patch up the old Moog and make some noises in honor of Bob.

I have a Realistic MG-1 concertmate, kind of like a Rouge I gather.
I even modified it a little and added an input to the filter.
Bob Moog's spirit and accomplishments will live with us.
Talk about someone that helped to bring music VIA all of the Moog users to all of the music enthusiasts around the globe and will continue to do so.
R.I.P. Bob Moog

Sorry for the double post but considdering the chance for sneaking in some history in a program normally on dance I think it's worth it to mirror it here;

---
Of cource I too am very sadened by this. At the moment I can't think anything apropriate to write so I'll keep silent for a moment.

On the relatively bright side; left and right people are setting up initiatives to remember Moog and I think it's a bit of a beam of light that these might bring some things to the atention of people that might otherwise have missed interesting bits of history (that came out all wrong but you know what I mean).

I just got a call from a friend who runs a radio show. Next saturday he wanted to do a special on Moog's legacy and hoped I might have some tips or would be able to be there. Now, I have to be in Berlin then but I do have a interesting opening here. If anybody has any interesting stories on Bob that he thinks represent him well or sugestions for music to play then you could email them to bt1100b AT gmail DOT com and Roy will read and play your stories and song sugestions if at all possible. This show is called "electro nation" and will br broadcasted through the web as well from the stream at www.kinkfm.com

This is a show aimed at a young audience and I think it's a great chance to share some history with a young audience that may not know much of it, all over the world. Roy is a great guy, b.t.w., didn't blink a eye when I played White Noise in his show on dance music so I like to support him where possible.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you like it. It's got an augmented filter (& resonance) .

Thus it was a good candidate for Bob, who made the sweetest filter.

I like to slide-in a sine wave (or morphable sine wave), when the res setting is high (ie res not only brings up the resonance but also introduces an osc who's pitch it that of the cutoff). this resonance osc can be distored, shaped, etc for strange filter effects.

Let me know if you create some variations on it. I want to hear 'em!

Dr. Robert A. Moog, Rest in Peace.

The man is now gone - but he has left a fantastic legacy - awesome synthesizers with that Moog sound that have had such a dramatic impact on music. Thanks a million Bob!

I have attempted to patch a G2 model of the MiniMoog. See this:
