Test your synthesizer knowledge and seperate the analog from the digital!

It's a German site, but it's easy to understand: the green question mark will play the same music on a different synthesizer. Correction: 46 synthesizers. Then you guess what it could be, click on the red exclamation mark and loose. Easy, isn't it?

http://www.znarfelectronix.de/frames/hoertest.html

The links to Mr. Trippler and Herr Dr. Müller are links to another test sites. The other links are the test development kit along with a readme if you happen to want to include, say, the G2?

BTW Mr. Trippler. He has an Evolver and

"The Evolver is not only a wonderful synthesizer but a multipurpose unit. I used it to record my electroencephalogramm through the audio inputs"

You can hear the result on his website. Nice idea. X-rays through Cameleon5000 anyone?

I don´t have the time to check out this site in detail right now. However, it is extremely interesting that many cannot hear the difference between analog and digital synths. We all know there are differences, and there are also ways to make these more obvious. I recently did a piece together with Chris Orczy and i played this for a few local friends. None of these heard that the synths I had used were all digital. They were in fact complimenting the my arsenal of analog synths.

Quite facinating. They really did a great job programming all these different synths to sound so similar.
