A switch matrix would be cool... |
|
|
I would love to have a 8x8 or 16x16 switch matrix module. I know it's functions can be done via other methods but coming from a Synthi AKS background, a patch matrix/switcher would be very useful to me. Having the patching visualy depicted in the matrix is somthing I'm more used to. _________________ James Husted, Designer

-------------------------
The mixer modules with pushbuttons are imho actually quite good to make matrices of any size. There is one big advantage when using these mixer modules: it is easy to keep part of the matrix blue, and thus save on DSP power.

Thanks for the patch. I think The method you have shown is VERY flexible, but for me, a little too large and complex. I think that a simple cange that would work for me would be to change the current SW1-8 and SW8-1 switch modules so that multiple switches can be on at once. Then a matrix could easily made from them. _________________ James Husted, Designer

Rob, i love this one! I have 2 soft EMS synthi's and planned to make it for the G2. I love your 'spring reverb' in particular. Thnx. I added Midi cc's. And played with EvolvCC(Palle Dahlsted) and MidiMod(Jan Punter)........that's a lot of FUN. |

Rob's patch demonstrates an excellent matrix switch/mixer.
If this patch were made into a hardware synth, it would be fabulous. something that could make a tremendous variety of sounds. It would be an instant classic.
There are so many things to adjust, it is almost mind-boggling. A person could make a career playing a patch such as this. _________________ --Howard

This is an excellent-sounding synth and the matrix is brilliant!
Are all the scroll buttons in the matrix's mixers set correctly? they are either dB or Lin but the FiltMod row is unlike the other rows. |

Yes, that is intended.
The FiltMod likes the linear knobs for keyboard, lfo and sequencer signals to easily scale to the octave scale. But for audio signals it works nicest if the modulation index is just shallow, so the dB or Exp knobscales work out best to extend the shallow modulation range. Well, imho...
Just check out what yóu like best, but I did have some thoughts about it. |
