I remember this has been asked before but I can't find the answer:
How can I make a LFO run at the speed of e.g. five times of another speed (aka quintuplets)?
I'd like to build a metronom where I can set the speed (preferably in bpm) and have LFOs that give me quintuplets, septuplets and everything else. My brain feels like pudding trying this. Thank you for any hints.

Hi Sebber,

Maybe this patch give you some clues to do it. Hope it helps.

Wan, thanks a lot. Unfortunately it's not quite what I need.
I'd like to set a tempo and get the ratios of 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5... as well as 2:1, 3:1, 4:1... up to ten or 14 maybe. With the basic tempo ranging from 4bpm up to 250.
I guess when I understand how to get a ratio of 1:5 out of a "yellow" signal I know what to do. I tried using a zero counter and multiplying it but it's not working accurately.

Maybe something like attached.

Try changing the multiplier and the divisor, they'll act a bit confusing though as 0 really means one ... just add one to the setting shown on the module.

This might have a problem with long term sync / stability though. And whenever you change the settings a reset should be applied. I have no solution for this for the general case, as the patterns could become quite long. For a fixed case something with dividers could be set up.

As it now is the patch gets reset on loading (or whenever it gets recalculated) or when you click the reset button.

That looks good, I will have a closer look tomorrow. Thanks a lot. I've been numbling on this so long. If it works, I'll post the utility patch, if not... I'll come back here Smile

Just noticed a little error I made, the reset button does not work. It can be corrected by setting the OR gate to XOR instead.

That's it.

Putting together the "Just Tune example" (manual) and the "Add along mixing" chapter (Rob's workshop) and the "tip with zero counter" (this forum) makes it all work.

Using the PartQuant to do maths and getting divisions by subtracting something is too much for me. I never really got the Just Tune example.

BlueHell, I corrected the mistake and added a ClkGen to get the exact tempo. Now I can finally build the metronom of my dreams - a very sick kind of déformation professionelle, I know.

Thank you very much!
