This is a building block that separates upwards going signals from downwards going signals so you can apply a different slewing/filtering to both phases. Basically a logic signal is generated flagging an upward or a downward slope. The logic signal is 'distributed' to two mixer inputs and the result controls filter cutoff of a 6dB filter by sweeping it over a very wide range.

The block can be used to slew a sequence, an oscillator signal, a filtered signal or whatever else.

It is similar to the slewing action in the Serge Universal Slope Generator, though this one can not be triggered (yet) or get in selfrunning mode to get an LFO with separate up/down slope control. Still, those things can already be done with the G2 env modules. What the G2 envelope modules cannot do and the Serge module can do (the filtering and the wave distortion) is emulated in this building block.

If both the UP and DOWN knobs are turned fully right there is no action at all. When turned left they start to filter or distort an audio signal or slew a control signal.

I tried this thingy several times with other methods but couldn't solve the problems caused by the fact that the compare module is of a 'equal or greater than' type, until I tried this trick with the min/max module to cancel the 'equal' thingy. It looks far fetched, but what seemed more obvious solutions all didn't work as they couldn't handle the phases in a squarewave signal where the signal stays at the same level for some longer time. Now it works and is ready to be used wherever one likes.

UP_DOWN_SLEW_LIMITER.pch2
 Description:
Slew limiter with separate knobs for the upwards and the downwards slopes. Can be used on both control and audio signals. Can easily be adapted to be modulated as well.
Inspired by the Serge Universal Slope Generator.

This is a fantastic device...it really helps to shape sounds towards analog behavior... just ..id ont understand how it works...stupid me Sad
but thanx anyway...
A very cool building block
