Elektro80 a few days ago was telling me about the bebop-o-tronics movement. It reminded me that I have a good example of this style that I composed a few years ago called "Quasiton"
It started out as a free piano improvisation recorded on my sequencer and then edited up to the smallest detail.
If improvisation is sometimes called "instant composition", my compositions could be called "dissected improvisations" Exclamation
Enjoy Very Happy

I am very proud of Quasiton. If you listen carefully you'll hear a "call and response" (canon style) among the instruments. I was trying to mix free improvisation and baroque music Shocked
J.S.Bach if born in the XX century would have been the greatest jazzman Exclamation

Just listened to it again. Do you have a MIDI file of this piece. Would you mind me trying to re-realize it?

This thread suddenly remided me about my own stunt years ago... the band "Ministry Of Loud" .. a heavy rock group without the rock.

I received the MIDI file from Carlo and I've done another arrangement. I think the MIDI file is not exactly the one of the verison Carlo has posted, but I could have munged it when I was working on it. In any event, this sounds a bit different. I thinned the bass line quite a bit and changed a bit of the precussion sounds.

I hope Carlo isn't too upset with me....

Just went back an listened to Carlo's mp3. Seems I used the trumpet sound as the base and got rid of the bass altogether. Hey, still sounds good.

it's such an honor to have Master Patch DJ remixing my tune Exclamation
yours is a more minimalistic approach than mine but that's fine.
I like it. It's very interesting to see what someone else can come up with your own stuff Very Happy

Very "hip"!

I'm a relatively new kid on the block here and I see that you posted this some time ago. Really enjoy this along with your other music postings.
