My Sound Lab modifications |
 |
|
I've recentrly been modifying my sound labs so they'll be able to produce even more cool sounds. The best mods I've done so far is the FM-mod, which generates metallic sounds (I've got an piano-like sound once ) and the LFO-COF-range mod which makes the LFO sweep the filter the way I wanted.
The not so necesasary mods were the GND/-9V switches, since they don't do that much and the COF-input since the filter needs negative voltages to
go mmmmwwhhhooooaaaa. With my 0-5V MCV4 modulation wheel CV it sounds just like a wah instead...
1. Fine tuners for the oscillators.
2. Frequency modulation amount.
3. FM on/off.
4. FM AC/DC.
5. Connects the incoming CV to OSC1 to the CV in of OSC2 (so I can play with my MCV4 that only has one note CV output).
6. Aaron Crams' ring modulator (without buffer amps), made from only the extra OTA and a few other components.
7. Attenuations towards ground or -9V for the EG, LFO and FM outputs.
8. LFO COF-range HI/LO, sets the value of R31 to 100k (HI) or 200k (LO, original).
9. COF-CV input for modulation wheel CV from my MCV4. Do not use the 9V zener mod on this one or you'll not be able to turn the COF low enough anymore.
10. Extra CV inputs with the 9V zener protection mod. The other CV-inputs and the gate inputs also has the protection mod. And of course I use the 1V/Oct mod.
11. Audio input to filter. _________________ YouTube channel

Very nice Pehr,
I did the CV1+CV2 by using a switched CV in jack for CV2. So if you don't plug in a CV2, CV2 gets the same as CV1. I've got 4 VCOs on mine, so I actually chained this across all of them. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Nice Pehr. I did most of the mods on the SL page when I first made mine. I still have a empty spot for a RM though. I gotta get that in there.
PS I been peepin your blog from time to time. Nice work. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

That RM doesn't sound as awesome as I thought... maybe I didn't adjust the trimmers correct...
Thanks , it's nice to see that there's actually anyone visiting my weblog I haven't updated it much though lately, but now I have some days off from work so I'll maybe post something. _________________ YouTube channel
