New Metasonix TM-1 owner |

I just picked up a second hand, first generation TM-1 locally (I couldn't resist the low, low price), and I am blown away. After the music examples I had heard, I thought this was only going to be a noise box/ sound mangler; however, it is capable of some truly subtle effects. I am using it with a Modcan modular primarily, but so far it has proven irreplacable. Hats off to Metasonix. I nearly lost it when I ran a VCDO into the input, a Miniwave processed Zeroscillator into the Beam CV, and a clean Zeroscillator into the carrier input... |

Welcome to our world. Modcan and Metasonix make a great pair. Starting with complex, evolving waveforms is the key to a great TM-1 experience. Explore that VCA! |

Thanks for the hints. I actually have only patched LFOs and EGs into the VCA input...
Is it me, or does everything sound "thicker" coming out of the TM-1? |

Even the saturation of the preamp tube alone is thick. The VCA is one of my favorite destinations for an EG. The behavior of the pulser is so strongly affected by the level and shape of the input signal. |

run the clock out of a sequencer into the Ringmod carrier input and youll get a trem effect.
Run and envelope into the VCA and it opens it more and everything sounds better.
The BEAM CV is cool, it will pass CV,audio in and audio out.
The TM-1 has a lot of uses. |
