Episode 131 was just Putney through KR+PH phaser, Dynacord EC280 analogue delay/reverb/chorus then slightly looped by DD-20, it's kind of spacey then goes a bit metal zone, then back to spacey, sort of Smile

I'm happy to announce that Jez has let me do another performance for Adventures in Sound. Keeping with Jez's tradition, here is a pic of my gear and how I plan on using it.

When I was a teenager I used to use my Korg X3 as my sequencer to control my other synths. I was recording a loop and forgot to set the patch before hand. I moved the Korg's value pot to change the patch. When I played the loop back I noticed that it had recorded the patch changes and the track was now sending those random quantized changes to my Juno-106. Holding a note down on the Juno create a cool rhythmic sound from the patch changes.

I am using that same idea for the entire performance. I am setting up loops of program changes in Ableton Live and sending those to the Juno-106. Then I will hold down the desired notes on the Juno.

Lead sounds will be played by a cool combination of the Korg X3, a Yamaha EMT-10, and a modified Korg Monotron. I am using Ableton Live to route the midi out from the Korg X3 to both the EMT-10 and the Monotron, and them mixing the outputs of all three in my mixer.

Some arps and drums will also be included, which come from the Yamaha DJX in the bottom left of the pic. There might also be a few sounds from my CMOnSter synth.

This performance is going to be a little more upbeat and energetic due to the rhythmic nature of the patch shifting. What I have so far sounds really good, so make sure to tune in!

Thanks. And thank you for letting me take over the show one more time.

I have to catch up on some DIY stuff now, but hopefully I can do another episode soon.

Episode 133 'Weevils in Wales' is pre-recorded as I'm playing live again elsewhere Smile

this one is made up of recordings from my recent holiday in Wales

it's a mix of 5 separate live improvs 'on location' and some field recordings

1. dolwyddelan castle in rain
2. harlech castle gatehouse
3. conwy castle kitchen tower
4. great orme wind
5. portmeirion temple drone

using:

1. & 2. boardweevil 2012 & px3
3. boardweevil 2012, monotron and android fx/curtis on ipod touch
4. boardweevil 2012, monotron and nlog on ipod touch
5. boardweevil 2012, monotron, px3 and proloop on ipod touch

with a bit of extra delay added in post production

and no looping!!

(I forgot to take my dd-20)

Sorry Jez that the switcher wouldn't work - on it now, but to me it looks all normal and as if it should work, have asked Howard for help on it.

For episode 135 I just used Yamaha SY77, Repeater and DD-20 for delay

I did a lot of editing of the frequencies of the modulating operators to get different harmonics for the drones

For this episode I used iPad/iPod running: samplewiz, monnix, sunrizer, nlog, curtis, bowls, android fx, proloop, abcdefg, toplapapp and space, with kaossilator and boardweevil, through monotron, px3 and dd-20, with lots of vcs3 samples mangled in samplewiz Smile

Here's me playing the same setup the night before at Quadelectronic 48
