Latest work. Arranged a piece by John Dunstable (late 15th-early 16th century) and added in my own bits. What would he say if he heard this version of his medieval choral piece? What would you say if you heard a remix of your music made 500 years from now??? Shocked

And for further discussion, was this a piece of music that was worth revisiting? Dunstable's piece, originally written for three voices, has been arranged as the guitarish sounding instrument panned to the left. The pizzicato violin, bass, percussion, effects are my addition.

I'm happy with how it turned out, but I'm afraid John would feel his music had been butchered and that I'm a hack who missed the entire point of this work.

Quite possibly. I'm glad you did this anyway, no matter what he might feel - which might not be to much considering he's been dead for 500 years.

I like it...

Given your expertise, I take this as a very positive comment! Grazie.

If you're curious, it's based on his motet 'Quam pulchra es'. And to correct my previous post, it's over 500 years old (he lived 1385 - 1453).

Dear Beat Amatuer,

[b]Who are you and why are you not on my label. I simply must have you before some other shark steals your genius!

This one is good. I am not familiar with this piece by Dunstable, but I am pretty sure he would enjoyed your version. Grats! This is another major hit!

Dear Mr. IronKurtin:
Thank you for your offer. Unfortunately I must decline since I've recently accepted another label's offer to release my next three albums. Also, I have experiments planned for work tomorrow morning and my boss would be quite unhappy with me if I abandoned them to visit you in LA.
Best wishes,
b.
