Calendar Event: November 20, 2010 Antimon: Commuter's Diary - 20 november 21.00 GMT
Collected snippets from Öresund 2010-10-13 - 2010-11-05.
An hour of tiny compositions made in Nanostudio while on the train between Malmö and Copenhagen.
I work as a consultant, and my current assignment is in the capital of my neighbouring country Denmark. This means I get to spend about an hour each morning and evening on trains as I cross the water between the Malmö and Copenhagen. Being slightly agoraphobic, I rely on my trusty iPod to provide me with games and other programs that distract from the press of the crowd.
Lately Nanostudio has been doing a great job at this. I feel like I'm 16 again, having a blast with Soundtracker on my Amiga. I quickly got into the routine of making one little tune on the way to work in the morning, and another tune on the way back in the evenings, and managed to keep this up. Once I had assembled a pile of about 30 of these, I figured it would be cool to present them to you all on a radio show.
The style is fairly light-weight, pop and techno stuff, jumping back and forth, possibly giving a messy impression, but that's just the way I do stuff like this. I like short. I've added some field recordings from the train ride too.
Tune into radio.electro-music.com at 21.00 GMT on november 20, before Chez Mosc, to hear it.
/Stefan

Ouch, the 20th! I'm having company that day, but if I'm playing board games or something with my guests, I'll tune in for background music. It sounds interesting. |

We love you Stefan! I going to put this on my iPhone to listen in the car, train, bath, astrally projecting etc etc .
I was really digging the whole thing tonite, but one of the kids (Swedish parents too you know! Oh yes, we have people from all over the world living here in Birmingham!) had a bit of a crisis so I had to leave from the listening to take her home- which was a shame, and then Rosie demanded my attention, so the evening ended up in a bit of a disaster for me listening to the rest of the stream
Ho hum. Oh well Will listen in again. (I bloody well should anyway- being a janitor!- no excuse! ).
Peace!

A great, and inspiring set. We listened to it downstairs for the party whilst it was on- it was well received and when I showed what it was done on, even more "wow". _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
