@ungleichklang : No problem I did not mean to sound harsh, I was just not getting the point, I don't feel offended or pissed off by what you said. All is fine with me Wink

just had to pre-order it, but one wonders - can those cheeks be removed easily for custom wooden ones?

Yes I think so.

It is nearly autumn, that time of year when, for some unknown reason, I become absurdly musically prolific. I also feel compelled to buy new hardware at that time, and I just did it again.

In the next day or two I will accept delivery of a Minibrute. I'm very excited. Christmas comes early this year.

I've only ever played a real analog synth once, in the late 70s, when a friend tried to trade me one. I thought it was broken because it would only play one note at a time. I turned it down.

Soon I'll be posting a bunch of new AEJOTZ tunes to e-m and the 'brute will surely be featured.

Last yeat I bought an Alesis Micron, but I never warmed up to it. I'm trying to trade or sell it on craigslist.

update 9-21

I traded the Micron for a Microsampler and it's a blast. It allows me to hand-play passages into the sequencer using quantize, giving me rhythmically perfect starting lines.

The Minibrute is a blast. Yves explained earlier in this post, "Note that the Arpeggiator can also be used as a basic sequencer."
It took me awhile to figure out how to do it. You toggle that feature on and off with the MIDI editor software. Then, when you begin a sequence in "hold" it remembers the sequence of notes you play. You have to keep holding down the first key you hit, so if you want that note again, just octave up or down and hit the right note in a new place while still holding down the first key you hit.

I just blew away an hour playing around with a cool 8 note sequence, twisting knobs maniacally like a mad scientist. Sorry, I didn't have the recorder on.
