Hello,

has anyone here tried to remove buttons from the Nord Lead (e.g. the "Distortion" button etc)? I'm asking because I'm thinking about re-painting some of these button caps, like the 4 parts buttons and the "trigger" button with glow-in-the-dark color or something like that, for easier access when using on a dark stage etc...

And I don't want to do this if I can break something. Are they easily going off like buttons from a computer keyboard? And is it possible to re-order them if I should feel like putting the Nord Lead back to its original state?

If you do it carefully, it is a normal job.
Open the synth, detach the Panel and lift the caps carefully.

Watch out the LED's when attach the Panel again.

At http://www.syntaur.com/nord.html you can find spare parts, but you have to ask them if the caps are available.

Okay, so it's not possible to remove the caps without opening the whole Synthesizer?

Well, sometimes, without any logical reason, it happens spontaneously.
You can try, but I have done it with the Panel board detached. One can easier plop the button off Smile
