Hi all!

Will i cause any serious problem if i gently ask for the binary file of the OS 2.7 for the Nord Lead 1?
If you think that this is all wrong, please don't be angry with me. I really don't have a a clue if u can post a request like this or not.
For the record, I actually bought my NL1 brand new for loads and loads of money, so i really think that i have paid my share to Clavia already Smile It's the oldest thing Clavia have in their arsenal, so its pretty obsolete at this day so...

Well, the reason i ask at this particular time is because i can't afford an upgrade at this moment, and i really really want the new features Smile
I have actually borrowed an eeprom programmer for a few days and i was hoping to find the OS on the net. But some things just cant be found is seems Sad

Many thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome

The price of a new e-eprom isn't that much and I think you should ask them, simply because when the have enough customers who ask they start a new run for updates. Anyway, they won't be angry Very Happy
Using the Calvia write to 'feedback'.

Well, i know that Clavia wont be angry, thats for sure Smile You dont have to point THAT out Smile I think my local music store will charge me 450SEK for a new EEPROM. For me thats pretty much. For comparison i remember that downloaded the last OS in binary for my Waldorf Pulse directly from Waldorf's own FTP server, even though they were selling it in EPRROMS.

Well, at the end of they day day it all come down to morality i guess...

whats Clava "write to feedback" anyway? Smile

There are two options: 'service' or 'feedback'. The first option connects you with the distributor, the second one with Clavia in Stockholm. Both will direct you to your dealer.

You forgot one option Smile

Well, i personally think its a stupid way of charging the customers for even more money Sad The NL's are pretty expensive as they are. $66 is way too much for an eeprom that cost next to nothing for Clavia to purchase. It would be a nice gesture to upload the binary files on their ftp site for those who actually have an eeprom programmer i think. But then they will probably lose some money, so that's not an option!

Many credits goes to Waldorf who actually had the latest OS for the PULSE in binary on their ftp site!!! I checked yesterday and it was now gone for some reason, but it was there for some time anyway!!

The only argumernt you can opose to them they dont do it to all their other products, only to the NordLead, the 3 excluded. That last one is like all the others free download able Very Happy'
At the other hand it is also the only Clavia synth which needs an eeprom installed. That's is new hardware...
