Looking at the schematic for the CGS Serge Resonant Equalizer, does anyone have any idea why the topology of the filter sections is changed for the higher frequencies (2.8k, 5.2k and 11kHz)? For the lower frequencies, it's a straightforward Deliyannis type bandpass filter, but for those three, it's different (possibly a Sallen-Key, though not the common placement of resistors and capacitors). A spice model of the two shows exactly the same frequency response for this as for the deliyannis topology (with suitable component values, none of which are unusual). all three are buffered, which means three more opamps - just wondering why this is useful/necessary.
