Hello,
I've recently got an Elektron Analog 4. It is a 4 poly synth in which you can load 4 sounds on separate tracks, and control them with a step sequencer. Each track can be played separately via MIDI.

However, sometimes I would like to play it with a keyboard (preferably the G2), as if it was a 4 poly synth. The problem is, how do I send MIDI notes to it, cycling through channel 1-4 with correct note-on and -off so that it appears as a 4 poly keyboard synth?

I've tried to set up a G2 patch to cycle through the MIDI channels each time I press a new note, but then it's a problem with note-off and other things. And I also tried setting up a performance where each slot is controlling a separate MIDI channel, and cycling through them on each note-on, but I just run into problems.

Bottom line is, I don't know the G2 well enough to do this on my own. So I'm reaching out for the expertise of the forum.

Anyone willing to help me out here?
Cheers.

Hi again,
sorry.. I tried a little harder this time and solved it.
The missing piece was the module named "Status". Specifically the "Voice No." that reports which iterator of the voice it is. From that point on it was mere logic.

Ah, good you found it - yeah the status module is good for some nice trickery.

Yes it was a good find. This has been driving me nuts not knowing which voice is playing!
