So I just got a Godin Multiac Nylon SA guitar. Very Happy I feel it will take some time to explore all of the different ways that I can use this. Here something I did mainly with the guitar hooked up straight to a cheap mixer using line in. The bass was done using the VG99.

In line with the demos I listened to around the web previous to purchasing it, it has a fairly thin sound at the core. I'm going to experiment a bit with eq:ing and effects to see if I can get a deeper, more hollow sound. Any hints are welcome!

Sounding good Smile

Concerning the quacking piezo sound for me it seems quite hard to remove with eq, maybe some convolution on an ir from a nice classical would help but I have never tried it.

This http://www.d-tar.com/mama_bear.shtml is meant to work well with the nylon godins but I have also never tried one.

Some more multiac through compression and reverb on the Pod X3. Not very nylon-like, but a nice peculiar sound nonetheless.

Nice recordings, Stefan! I don't know about thin, the first one sounds like a nylon string guitar to me Very Happy

The Nechville synth-ready banjo that I got in the spring has a "native sound" that's more electric uke than it is banjo to me, largely because of the small banjo head. I don't mind, I have 5 open back acoustic banjos of varying timbre (due to tone rings, head material, head diameter, wood, and metal-to-wood ratios), so it's nice to hear something different.

I use some reverb to thicken up the "native sound," and of course all kinds of stuff when I want to go non-native. I mostly use the magnetic pickup -to- audio processing for my backbone -- got used to this care of processing acoustic banjos -- and the GR-33 and MIDI soft synths to put in some percussion (triggered by strong thumb strikes above a velocity threshold) and background pads. I don't really use my finger picking in a one-to-one way with synth notes. I hope to revive this software for it, but have not got around to fixing the Win-to-Mac porting bugs that I hit in 2008. One of these years.

What is the non-piezo pickup config on this guitar? Is it microphones?

Have fun.

Cheers Dale! Very Happy

I'm starting to realize that nylon can mean different things. I'm definitely happy with the sounds this guitar is making, even though it's not entirely what I expected.

I'm not sure, but my impression is that the RMC polydrive pickup feeds both the hex output as well and the line out mono jack.
