This isn't proper "space music" and it's not "space-synth" music. It's just spacy music.

It might sound automated but except for the LFO it's hand-played.

Sounds very nice. I like the repetitive structure of this sound. I would say that it could be one of the elements in a more complex total arrangement where it could be a lead that continues for a while, then 'put aside' and come back later on. I hope that you get what I mean.

Thanks. It's interesting that you would phrase it that way. I'm deliberately avoiding "proper song structure" these days after having written hundreds of songs with intro, verse, chorus, bridge, interlude, solo, outro, whatever.

I enjoy layering different simple lines to create more complex wholes. Usually I add a layer every time a theme comes round.

But sometimes later layers completely change the feeling from the way the thing started. It has occurred to me to experimentally drop individual lines out of the mix when other layers are added, perhaps bringing them back later, perhaps not. In this way I could gradually evolve an overall theme through a series of moods.

The only problem is, that sounds like work. My little three-minute jams with myself aren't work at all. Typically, I'd rather play than work. We'll see.

I see now what you mean. I didn't know that of course. I like your sounds and I wish you a lot of inspiration to go on.
