I thought that this piece, Invocation, from my first CD "Source of the Hardware" would be of interest to members. Here's the MP3 free.

Glad you liked this. In case you're interested, this piece was composed after passing through a heavily polluted industrial wasteland in Pennsylvania. When I returned home, I sat down and improvised the layered synthesizer parts, one atop the other, using the following modules: Yamaha TX802, Roland D550 and Roland JV-1080. When listening back I, on a whim, picked up my electric violin and played along. I liked the organic, crying sound of the violin so much that I used it to improvise what you hear in this Mp3 which was recorded live at a concert in 2007.

If you like "Invocation" you might also like "Diabolus" and "Nocturne 2" from the same CD, "Source of the Hardware". I also composed 13 pieces inspired(?) by the looming consequences of climate change. I presented those pieces in a concert last spring called, "Notes from the End of Time". They are beautiful but dark experimental electro-acoustic instrumental works that garnered recognition from an environmental group. I am thinking about "Notes from the End of Time" for my next CD.

Cheers,

Bill Gregg
