Here's a silly little ditty that I finally finished - it's been lying around for a month or two. For anyone bothering to listen to the lyrics, note that it is all pure fantasy, my parents never met any pirate king. pirat

Based around chords strummed on a 12-string model on the VG-99, with some notes from a SubPhatty and a blurry lead thing from my new GP-10.

I treated myself to a compressor pedal yesterday, and while trying it out through the OP-1's effects, I came up with this thing.

I started out with long shimmering chords that were created by taking my Fender Marauder Modern Player through my new MXR Dyna Comp, and then through the CWO effect on the OP-1. CWO has left me totally confused before, but I've discovered that it can be useful as long as you keep the crazy settings down.

Then I added some nylon guitar which was taken through the compressor into the Nitro effect on the OP-1, which turned into a cool kind of auto-wah effect, but more synth-like.

After that I came up with the song, and then as I added more and more stuff, the whole thing slowly turned into something that sounds a bit like a repetitive bossa nova number.

I usually don't like 'pop' music very much but you're doing it right.

Pop tune with some key changes. With lyrics. Blip blopping SubPhatty, strings, bass and drums from Bitwig, some guitar things on my trusty 330 through the GP-10. The lyrics were inspired by a combination of the Björk/Gondry video for her song Bachelorette, and the end of "Death to the Daleks" with Jon Pertwee.

Hi Smile

Here is something I've been working on this week Smile .

A "fan" cover version (instrumental) of Antimon's - Deep Inside song Very Happy .

I first listened repeatedly to Stefan's song to work out the key changes & notes on my RM1X midi sequencer , played the melody lines / assembled the song , hooked up the top row of the diy orange mfos synth to do the bass , the bottom row orange synth to do the two note line .
The ASM-2 diy synth does the 3 note line (comes in half way through the first verse) , and the modular was patched up to do the vocal key melody .
Diy Yellow drum synth does the drums & cowbell Wink.
A Nord G1 does the pad sounds.

Deep Inside.......version by Orchard.

The lyrics to "Deep Inside":

Quote:
These red readings need to rest
Drained inside
Break the secret
Cardboard tears
The french dream
All I can do between lives is touch and be touched
Dearest weakling under my wing
I'll tell everyone

How you stopped with a baffled face
Before letting truth in here
How you saw what could not be seen
Deep inside

My grey spirit flew in the white
Soared so high
Now it needs rest precariously on the cliffside
We ran together
Do you feel the same
Even though you wear different colours
Dearest loner longing for love
I'll tell everyone

How your eyes flash like pulsars
When you fly between markers
How you feel what cannot be felt
Deep inside

And you stopped with a baffled face
Before letting truth in here
And you saw what could not be seen
Deep inside

Come in earnest to our home
Drained inside
In the gloomy air hear the tone
Sing along

I wasn't sure if I should post another cover version of my favorite Antimon song, but Stefan said go for it Very Happy .

Around 1990 I was a teenager obsessed by fast music from Scandinavia , that's the approach for this version Smile .
Guitars were through 2 distortion pedals in series & set to "chainsaw".
Bass guitar with overdrive.
Roland TD drum kit (badly played Wink heh )
I recorded the vocals 3 times / over 3 tracks & applied reverb to one .

A special version of Deep Inside.........

Thanks for your great music Stefan.
Cheers
Dave.

Synth pop with lyrics. Started as a test - putting the SubPhatty through the Rocket's highpass filter. Used the PO-12 for most of the drums.
